Have You Met Penny?

Penny Pediatric is the most advanced pediatric intraosseous (IO) simulation model available today! We set out to create a model that was uncompromisingly precise, realistic, and durable enough to perform exceptionally for students, clinicians, educators, and healthcare professionals across a range of training scenarios. Penny Pediatric delivers on these goals and more!

What Sets Penny Apart?

Penny Pediatric is the FIRST AND ONLY pediatric IO access trainer designed for accessing two critical sites—the distal femur and proximal tibia. While the tibia has traditionally been the primary pediatric IO access site, the growing demand for a trainer capable of accessing the femur inspired our innovation. Learn more!

Penny Pediatric is available now!

Curious what went into Penny’s development? Explore the R&D process here!

FUN FACT: All hands—and legs—on deck!

Meet Grace, VATA President Andrew Call’s 3-year-old niece and our exceptional model for Penny Pediatric IO! We used skin-safe molding rubber to create a 3D replica of Grace’s leg, which we then scanned and transformed into the foundation for Penny.

Thank you, Grace, for your LEG-CELLENT assist in bringing Penny to life!

That’s a Wrap on Spring Shows!

We’ve just wrapped a very busy and VERY FUN spring trade show season!

We had a fantastic time connecting with customers, partners, and friends all over the country! A big thank you to conference hosts and sponsors for organizing such wonderful events! Shout out to attendees and fellow exhibitors for visiting our booth, sharing feedback, trying out our products, and contributing to the exceptional healthcare simulation community we are proud to be a part of!

A quick recap of this season:

ONS (ONCOLOGY NURSING SOCIETY) | April 24-28, 2024 | Washington DC

We had an amazing time at ONS in Washington DC! It was a pleasure meeting so many of our existing customers in person and making new connections! ✨Thank you to Oncology Nursing Society, our fellow exhibitors, customers, and attendees for a truly memorable experience! Our Chester Chest and Port “Body-in-a-Box” models stole the show, and we’ll be sure to bring them back next year!

SAWC (Symposium on Advanced Wound Care) | May 15-18, 2024 | Orlando, Florida

We had an unforgettable experience exhibiting at SAWC 2024! Any opportunity to take our entire line of wound care models out for a spin is a great one and we love hearing your feedback! We also enjoyed catching up with fellow exhibitors. Many are longtime friends who have used VATA models in their demos for decades and counting. Thanks to all who stopped by our booth and made this year one for the books!

INS (INFUSION NURSES SOCIETY) | May 18-20, 2024 | Kansas City, Missouri

This year marked our 38th time exhibiting at INS! Each year brings immersive, new experiences and connections as well as opportunities to strengthen bonds with cherished colleagues, friends, and customers. Attendees enjoyed demos of our infusion and ultrasound models, and scored a first look at our new wearable model, debuting this fall!

WOCN (Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurses Society) | June 9-11, 2024 | Cleveland, Ohio

WOCN in Cleveland was a blast this year! We made loads of fantastic new connections and had the chance to introduce many nurses and educators to our wound care and ostomy training models. A special highlight? Our mini “stress butts” giveaway—a squeezable, scaled-down version of our Seymour II model. It was a riot seeing everyone get excited about taking home a mini butt!

INACSL (International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning) | June 12-15, 2024 | Raleigh, NC

INACSL is always a hit for us because we get to meet so many incredible nurses and educators involved in medical simulation. This year, the Advanced Venipuncture Training Aid, Seymour II, and our brand-new Penny Pediatric IO leg model stole the show.

What’s Next?

We’re busy following up with new friends, colleagues, and customers following a jam-packed spring trade show season! From fulfilling orders to answering your questions, we’re grateful for the opportunity to create tools that enhance educational experiences and ultimately improve patient care.

SAVE THE DATE: October 2-5, 2024, we’ll be back on the show circuit for SAWC (Symposium on Advanced Wound Care)! Find all your VATA wound-care favs (and maybe a new product or two) at Caesar’s Palace on the Strip! Learn more…

Cheers to Chester! 🎉

Happy 38th anniversary to our very first model—Chester Chest! Since 1986, Chester Chest has been the go-to in healthcare simulation for teaching central line care.

“I educate nurses, respiratory therapists, physicians, and nursing students using Chester Chest. He allows hands-on manipulation with all vascular access devices. We love Chester!”

Alice Atcher BSN, RN, CCRN, CRNI®, VA-BC
University of Louisville

You’re the beating heart of VATA, a product so near and dear to our hearts—ok, ok, enough with the hearty humor—and we wouldn’t be where we are today without you!

Cheers to many more years of Chester love! 🥂
