VATA’S Vascular Access Ultrasound Phantom

VATA’S Vascular Access Ultrasound Phantom

Oregon based creator of anatomical healthcare models, VATA, recently launched a revolutionary new product, the Vascular Access Ultrasound Phantom (0705). With the highest quality imaging, VATA’s Vascular Access Ultrasound Phantom provides unmatched training opportunities for successful ultrasound guided vascular accessing. This tool is excellent for beginners and more advanced clinicians as it confirms successful access with visualization of the needle entering the vein and blood return.

This extremely life-like product is designed to educate medical staff and further improve patient experience and care. Flesh colored with the tactile feel and puncture resistance of real human tissue, the Vascular Access Ultrasound Phantom is also extremely durable—it can be accessed 1,000s of times and is self healing. Unlike the typical flat phantoms, the Vascular Access Ultrasound Phantom has a curved contour that mimics the contours of patients. With the very best image quality, the phantom is so realistic that movement of the soft tissue can be observed as the needle tip enters the vessel. This model is also available in both light and dark pigments.

“They’ve taken a very thoughtful approach and created a skin colored block which can be flipped if you want deeper vessels, and also addressed many of the artifacts like needle tracks, and “scarring” at the access point to the vessels,” said Renee Dversdal, MD, Director, OHSU Point of Care Ultrasound, former Director of Internal Medicine Simulation Education.

The Vascular Access Ultrasound Phantom is currently available here.
