Research & Development at VATA

Pat Brady (left) and Kyle Pierce (right) are part of the VATA team focusing on research and development of new products. Both Kyle and Pat are committed to working directly with clinicians to find out what models are most needed right now. By reproducing realistic training models for education process, VATA is able to create products that fill in the gaps for customers.

A true meshing of art and science, research and development combine the practicality of what is needed for medical simulation, with a hyper realistic artistic rendering. Anatomical models that provide as close to the look and feel of actual patients isn’t easy, but VATA’s commitment to realism is what sets us apart.

We asked…

Pat, what do you think makes VATA’s process and products different? We’re small. There are not too many cooks in the kitchen. There’s a choice by each person to take responsibility for making the best products possible.

Kyle, what’s your favorite part of this process? I really enjoy learning new things about the medical field. There’s a lot to learn. My wife is a nurse and it’s been interesting to get more familiar with things that she has mentioned in the past.

It’s also so clear to me that VATA really listens to customers and offers products that are really needed in healthcare education. Our products are true to the real world.

Coming Soon: Early 2022!

We are so excited to share that VATA will be releasing two new ultrasound models in early 2022!

Both models are designed to train and educate healthcare professionals in the use of ultrasound technology in diagnosing broken bones or identifying foreign objects. Model #1 will feature five different ribs ranging in size with no breaks to four progressively worse breaks. Model #2 includes six different foreign bodies at varying depths: a BB, glass shard, metal needle, metal shaving, wood sliver, and a staple. These models will allow healthcare professionals to understand how objects appear on screen and how to identify based on reverberations, material, shape, size, and more.
